It was a beautiful day for a ride and 8 of us made the trek down to Ajo for a good breakfast. Temps were slightly cool in the morning but warmed up nicely as the morning passed.
Our club was invited by GO AZ Motorcycles Scottsdale to take part in their annual Vendor’s Expo where customers get to see and interact with various parts, accessories and apparel company’s factory representatives. A few of our club’s board members were on hand to promote the club by talking to GO AZ’s customers about our organization and upcoming events.
While not the perfect dining setting, Octane Raceway was a fun dinner nevertheless! The menu is fairly simple, but no one really comes here for the food anyway! We had a decent sized group show up for dinner and we were able to catch up on past rides and what’s coming up on the schedule.
This year, we rode our annual Route 66 Tour from West to East. I believe the club has done it this way in the past, but this was the first time for me. Day 1 took us from our start point at GO AZ Motorcycles Peoria to our destination for the night at the Tropicana in Laughlin with a lunch stop in Kingman at El Palacio.

So, this one didn’t turn out like expected. It started at about 2:00 PM that I called our original location for our monthly Dinner Meeting, the Watershed in Tempe to make a reservation for us. The answering machine said, “If you’d like to make a reservation, please let us know how many, what time, your name and phone number and we’ll call you back.” I followed the instructions and never received a call back. As my day progressed, I got busy with work and was unable to call back to confirm.
We were approached via our Meetup group by the community events organizer of Spectrum at Val Vista, a community in Gilbert if we could provide bikes for their community event which they were calling Bikes, Blues & BBQ. This was set to be a community event that featured a couple of food trucks, a couple of bands and a bike show with a people’s choice award.

Big Earl’s is a Cave Creek staple located in a converted gas station offering great food and comfortable outdoor seating that is easy to spend hours socializing and of course eating.
Though the AZ 3FC Posse didn’t ride together this year, there were a few AZRATPackers that made the journey to Abbotsford, BC to start this year’s 3 Flags Classic and to eventually make the finish in Rocky Point.
